This is an experiment... I found the fabric in remnants (50% off woohoo!). It's a rayon jersey, which is not a quilting material per se. I'm playing with its wrinklyness and texture as I start quilting on it tonight. I also want to use it to write a story on. What's that you say? What about the Christmas presents? Those can wait. I have a creative bug up my butt or something.

Busy, busy times here. For those of you who may not have heard, my mom has been ill with acute pancreatitis, which has complicated itself into a pancreatic pseudocyst, which will need surgery to correct. It will be a long road back to full health, but I am inspired by her will and positive attitude throughout the ordeal. Love you mom!

I still have some finishing work to do, but I'm proud and want to post pictures already. This quilt is for my nephew. It is all hand-quilted. It was a lot of work, but I'm very happy with it.

new hat

I'm back into recycling fibers from thrift store sweaters. This hat is made with two strands of yarn: medium green lambswool and light green cashmere. It fits my head perfectly, but if you are dying to have it and your head is the same size as mine (huge), let me know and maybe we can work something out.

and later: I just thought to myself, hey! I have a whole load of these fibers! I could make one to fit and still keep mine! Let me know...
