what is emaya, you ask?
If you're asking yourself that question, you haven't read my etsy.com profile. Here it be:
Q: what do you get when you lock and eleven-year-old in a room with a sewing machine and a pile of fabric?
A: not much. but wait twenty years and the results are much improved.
Products of emaya design may be inspired by, but not limited to, the following list: conversations overheard at a local hangout, rambling Robbins, indecipherable dreams of a romantic at heart, cats with the who-do's, street art and sidewalk graffiti, frustrated throwing of fabric across rooms, tunes whistled by passers-by, utterances of cartoon likenesses, arm candy of all-too-skinny models on the pages of a fashion mag, images from the internets, and vibrations of music played sufficiently loud to rattle loose the floorboards of an aging cottage house.
emaya= a shave-headed monk chanting prayers in otherwise silent solitude while a bushy-tailed fox pauses the hunt to listen
design= products created by deft fingertips while straining to hear a butterfly flap its wings in the wind
If you're still scratching your head, too bad. Ha! Just kidding. I once had a dream in which someone was calling me Emaya and it stuck in my head that if I ever had something to name, I would name it Emaya. And I did.
