freebies

I'm having trouble getting rid of a few things that have sentimental value but that I don't really want to hang onto any longer. If you want to help by taking any of them from me, give me a yell and we'll make arrangements for transfer.

First, a Kyoro-Chan paint can. My brother won it while in Japan:
Next, a Jonah and the Whale mechanical coin bank. Not the real deal, but still cool:
Last, a framed photo collage made by me in high school. The frame is nice, and I don't really care if the picture stays in it:
Like I said, they are things I ought to be able to let go of, but they have stories for me. Some things are just this way.

exciting days

Wasn't last night amazing? I saw Maya Angelou on the news this morning and she recited part of this poem. It is pertinent and touching.

(this is a different version, but you'll get the idea)

a new home for sage

Sad-happy news. I took Sage to her new home yesterday. She has a kitty sister and brothers now, and even a pet rabbit. There's also a gated yard for her to play in when she's not inside with her new mommy, who is a wonderful, loving woman. I missed her deeply last night when it was bedtime, her usual love-seeking time. I'll miss her sniffing my eyes between pets, but I am confident that she will blossom like never before in her new home. I always felt a little bit like I was only a stop along the way for her, like that even my best efforts were a bit short of what she needed for her best life. I hope this is what she needed.

Update: I just received an email from Sage's new mommy, saying that she is well and has eaten and met the new family, and even cuddled with one of the boys for a while before going back into hiding. Aw. My sweet girl is going to be okay...

hulu

I like hulu. It's my new favorite thing. Especially since I made the mistake of already packing my crafty stuff. It's good times. Try it out.

eclairs

I saw some the other day at Charlotte's and have been fantasizing ever since. I keep meaning to go buy one (okay a dozen or so) to satisfy the craving, but I keep missing out because of the winter hours. I'll get there. Soon.
